Colonialism had a more positive affect in Africa tha a negative one. Africa was looked at as an uncharted territory with many natural resources up for grabs. Europeans discoverd this and began to settle in on Africa, bringin power and violence to obtain this territory and its natural resources. This may sound bad but it gave Native Africans a reason to gain independence, fight for things, and advance as much as they could twords industrialized countries. Also Europeans introduced Democracy and forms of governement in Africa. In the spirit of Pan-Africanism many Africans came together and this allowed them to advance more and led to independence in the 60’s and the Org. of African Unity.
Altough Europeans brought good to Africa through governement, they also brought bad. The European Intellectuals got to draw up the countries of Africa without any authority from Africa knowing, which they also did not consider race, ethnic groups, or economic ties. This split or put hostiles together. Also in the Congo the Europeans used it villagers to work against their will and if they did not their hand was removed. The violence and decision making of the Europeans were wrong but it seemed to have woke Africans up to our changing world and they developed a better idea of a more industrialized African Nation.
